Here’s how we’re bringing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to life at Pollinate:
Our internal team is focused on keeping diversity, equity and inclusion at the forefront of our company culture, client work, and community engagement. Right now, that means recruiting and supporting diverse voices in our organization. Our passionate and engaged crew also brings in volunteer opportunities, grant projects, and educational resources.
Portland OpenPath
In 2020, we started OpenPath, a community collective with the goal of bringing diverse voices and talent into the tech and advertising industries of Portland. We offer members of overlooked communities grants to attend code school (most recently through Epicodus Code Bootcamp), and professional development assistance including portfolio reviews, informational and mock interviews, and networking opportunities.
Portland Means Progress
We’ve partnered with Portland Means Progress on two initiatives:
- Creating work experience opportunities for underrepresented youth and young professionals of color through vetted service providers by Portland Means Progress.
- Fostering culture change within our organization by providing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion training for our staff and leadership with guest educators (most recently from Hein Consulting Group).
Pro Bono
We’re also focused on uplifting marginalized communities through donating our time and skills with pro bono work. A few organizations we’ve recently supported include Call to Safety, El Programa, and Adventures Without Limits.
In the community
Pollinate gives employees 8 hours of volunteer time each year to work with nonprofits we care about. Plus, Pollinate offers donation matching dollar-for-dollar, so over the past year, we’ve made donations exceeding $18,000 total funds to over 40 organizations.
Applicants and community members — have questions or suggestions about how we’re fostering positive change at Pollinate? We’d love to hear from you!
